If so, would like to couple two G-42 (L+R) with a G-28 (Center). ??** A: It's possible to configure two G-42s as standalone L and R. However, the G-42 is comprised as two front speakers and a center speaker . The fronts are engineered for different sound capabilities than the center. So you'd essentially be buying two $700 G-42 and only utilizing the front speaker capabilities of each, plus the additional cost of the G-28. Many more individual high quality speaker options available at that combined price point. That said, the Bauhaus look without the mesh, is killer, and would be killer x 3 in your case. **Q: Does this come with wall mount brackets?** A: Yes it comes with a good wall bracket but the connection points on speaker and screw holes on bracket are both spread 34 inches. 32 inches would have made it a perfect unit. **Q: Is this considered a "passive" soundbar?** A: Yes. It is a passive 3 channel soundbar. This means it must be connected to a receiver or amplifier to work and does not need to be plugged in. It has a center, left, and right channel so it would take 3 channels on your receiver. I have it set up as a center, lower right and lower left channel. I also have upper right, upper left, and 2 rear surrounds and a subwoofer to make it a 7.1 system. The speaker sounds great, very clean sound and perfect for under the tv. **Q: How is this for the price range? What's better or is this top notch?** A: As a stand-alone soundbar, I was way underwhelmed with the sound that it puts out for what I paid. It is crystal clear but lacks the richness that I was looking for. I did realize before purchase that the drivers on this unit are small and as a consequence would lack mids and have no bass of any kind. That said, this is the only speaker that I currently have hooked up to a mid-range Onkyo. Since they were a few years old I decided to upgrade. (Ok, my daughter poked the tweeters out and hence I was compelled to upgrade.)Now, I've been a fan of Klipsch for years and purchased several of their speaker systems, but my home audio surround sound didn't incorporate any of Klipsch's products. I regret that now. I've been missing out.This center channel alone in the front, handling front right and front left sound as well as center channel duty, dramatically transformed the sound I'm getting out of my Denon AVR-3802. Along with my Jamo sub woofer, this Klipsch G-42, which looks sleek, is sturdy, well built, and even has brackets that protect tweeters from menacing two-year olds, basically brought my surround system practically current. Its crisp, has good staging and delivers perfect mids and highs.Of course, audiophiles will tell you that any center channel that does triple duty (center, front right, and front left) must be joke. They are sorely mistaken. I am not the proud owner of a $100,000+ surround sound system, but that doesn't make my ability to appreciate a good speaker inferior to those with a significantly greater purchasing power. This center channel is excellent, for movies and music, and it went perfectly well with my Jamo Sub and Denon receiver, far better than I anticipated given that my sub and receiver are 10 years old.Do I dream of owning Klipsch Palladium speakers? This one certainly didn't so I returned it in exchange for three Klipsch G-12's, which I think contain the same speakers as the soundbar, but allow the physical separation you need for good stereo or Dolby surround. ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars Right channel woofer blew after two months of use. *by E***C on Reviewed in the United States on August 6, 2018* While watching a movie I noticed a burning electrical smell and tracked it down to the Klipsch G-42 soundbar. By testing individual channels it was clear that the right woofer had partially failed. The sound quality was distorted at higher volume levels. I reduced the input level to that channel, which eliminated the distortion, but the problem has worsened over time and is now distorted even at low volume settings.
