RCA Sender / Receiver - Great for 5th Wheel

*by L***F on Reviewed in the United States on July 8, 2019*

There wasn’t a solid review on here when I purchased to verify if the RCA worked. Purchased this for my 5th wheel so we didn’t have to move around dish receivers. While camping we rarely run the TV or more than one at a time so watching the same show as another tv in the coach isn’t a big deal. I’ve got a Dish Walley & Joey. Both have an HDMI and RCA output. I hooked the HDMI to the main television and the RCA cable from the Walley/Joey to the Sender (this eliminated me needing to use the RCA splitter provided in the box) and I didn’t compromise the picture or the larger tv by using the RCA. I then plugged in the the Receiver and connected it to our smaller outdoor tv via the second RCA cables and it was literally plug and play. The picture quality is decent. You’d never notice the slight difference unless I told you it was there. The sound is synchronized exactly. The Walley uses the IR remotes so the built in remote IR wasn’t needed as I just bought a second remote. Paired both remotes to the Walley receiver and then paired each to their own tv to adjust individual volumes etc. (in my home the dish IR remotes will tune through the exterior concrete wall out on the hot tub patio). When I first unboxed the item I tested it in my home. Similarly hooked the Sender to the back of a wireless Joey in the kitchen on main level using the unused RCA output (HDMI still running to kitchen tv providing it with a picture). Plugged the Receiver into a tv in the second story living room. Tested IR remote transmitter cord provided in the box and it worked (it would turn up and down the kitchen tv volume from the second story which would normally not be possible if I just carried the dish remote upstairs (it would tune the dish channel but not tv volume). There is a power button on the back of both the Sender and Receiver that I have to press on at least one of them to turn on. Once you press the power button the blue screen will turn on both the Sender and Receiver to tell you that they are now “on” and both read the same frequency channel to get the best picture (01-24). You press the power button to toggle through frequencies. If I were to toggle to 09 it using the Receiver the Sender will automatically go to that number as well saving you from having to go back and forth to sync both devices separately. This was a great inexpensive fix. I wonder if the HDMI would get a better picture than the RCA? I just didn’t want to invest that much money into an outdoor tv that is used to watch a game etc a few times a year. Hope that was detailed to provide you the information needed to make a purchase. I do wish they sold additional receivers so I could install one in the 5th wheels garage.

Doesn't restart after power outage, but works great with a good picture.

*by D***N on Reviewed in the United States on October 20, 2019*

Works great, with lots of channels, but it doesn't turn back on after power outage. This may not sound bad but I put the transmitter behind the AV rack, hidden out of sight in a place where I have to bend and stretch to hit the power switch. I don't want to bother with turning the transmitters off/on as a routine. I prefer them on as long as they're plugged in. I gave them four stars since they don't startup after power outages. The kit comes with plenty of connection accessories and adapters but I didn't need to use these since I replaced my old RCA transmitter.Placement with these is pretty close with the receiver one floor down about 10 - 15 ft away on the same (right) wall. I did get a choppy signal on all channels when the transmitter was on the other side (left) wall so be sure to try different placement options if you don't initially get the signal you want.

Worked a few months then picture went bad

*by H***M on Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2019*

When I initially put this put this up, it worked just fine for projecting to my kitchen TV which is about 20 feet away from the main box in the living room. However after just five months, the picture now strobes. I have tried changing it to different channels, unplugging it to reset it and Letting it cool off. Nothing has worked. This is a similar issue that I got with my previous two purchases of the RF Link transmitter and receiver, however they would last between 18 and 24 months before I had to replace them.
