The problem I had in the beginning was that the temperature dial did not indicate Celsius or Fahrenheit. A quick glance at the back panel shows the temperature range of the unit in Celsius. There are no cooling fans to vent excess heat.One of the reasons I purchased this model is because of the temperature dial. It is easier and quicker to adjust a dial compared to digital panels that other laminating machines use.The machine is housed in a metal body but design and manufacturing is economical. The back panel is only held by one screw in the middle of the unit causing the edge to warp. Paint finish is also inconsistent. Some areas have a heavy layer of paint coverage while others are so thin that the metal underneath is visible. These things don't affect how the product performs.The user manual does not give any recommended temperature settings. These are the numbers I use after testing the machine with different kinds of laminating pouches.3 mil - 150 C (with carrier) 125 C (without)5 mil - 150 C (with carrier) 125 C (without)7 mil - 160 C (with carrier) 135 C (without)10 mil - 165 C (with carrier) 150 C (without)I purchased my laminating machine from an auction site.
