Developed in collaboration with the National Gallery of Art, Gamvar can be easily and safely removed with Gamsol. Gamvar is virtually odourless and ready to apply. All Gamvar can be applied when the thickest areas of painting are thoroughly dry and firm. Gloss - Gamvar Gloss goes on water-clear and stays water-clear. Gamvar Gloss is the original Gamvar formula. Satin - Gamvar Satin saturates colours in painting yet dries to a lower gloss level compared to original Gamvar. Matte - Gamvar Matte reduces surface sheen while maintaining the deepest values in painting. Drying Time - A single thin coat of Gamvar provides excellent protection to a painting. If you prefer a higher gloss, a second equally thin coat of Gamvar Gloss may be applied after the first coat is tack-free. Review: Magic fluid for your paintings! - This is the best varnish, for both oil and acrylics! It really brought out the colors, the depth and shadows. Now my paintings are as good as new and looks so fresh, a little glossy. The packaging was excellent and there was no leakage. Thank you so much for delivering in good condition. Review: Properly applying Gamvar - First do oiling out on the oil painting to have even gloss on entire painting. After that is touch dry in few days, than apply thinly the Gamvar gloss varnish. In this way you will find that the entire painting is properly and evenly varnished. If oiling out is not done, there maybe uneven varnish gloss after varnishing. Fault is not of Gamvar, but rather of artist in not doing oiling out before varnish application. ## Features - Original Gamvar formula. Gives Glossy touch - Easily and safely removed with Gamsol - Virtually odourless and ready to apply ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00BN9OS00 | | Brand | Gamblin | | Brand Name | Gamblin | | Compatible Material | Wood, Canvas, Metal, Plastic, Paper, Glass, Stone, Leather | | Country of Publication | USA | | Coverage | 100 sq ft/bottle | | Customer Reviews | 4.7 out of 5 stars 514 Reviews | | Finish Type | High-Gloss | | Item Form | Liquid | | Item Weight | 0.11 Pounds | | Liquid Volume | 16.9 Fluid Ounces | | Manufacturer | MACPHERSON | | Manufacturer Part Number | GB10516 | | Material | Acrylic | | Material Type | Acrylic | | Model Number | GB10516 | | Product Finish Type | High-Gloss | | Recommended Uses For Product | Paintings, Artwork | | UPC | 729911000588 | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Gamblin - **Finish Type:** High-Gloss - **Item Weight:** 50 g - **Material:** Acrylic - **Recommended Uses For Product:** Paintings, Artwork ## Images ![Gamblin Gamvar Picture Varnish - 16oz Bottle - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61Gffv9tnIL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Presuming this product has a thin consistency, does it level out as it dries, or can brush and or squidgy marks can be visible when it finally dries?** A: No brush marks when dry. Beautiful product. **Q: How long it takes to dry out after application ?** A: I apply a thin even coat over dry oil paint and it usually dries in about 30-45 minutes.....Great product for deepening the colors without being overly shiny. **Q: Can this product be used to seal alcohol ink or watercolors? If so, what substrates can it be used on with those mediums? Thank you.** A: I use it only for oil paintings. You should contact Gamlin customer support in order to get the best answer. **Q: Can this be used to seal alcohol ink or watercolors on any substrates? If so, what substrates? Thank you.** A: I have used it on canon print canvas to seal a canon pro 100 ink print with apparent success. Did not make the ink bleed or change color. Seems completely transparent. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Magic fluid for your paintings! *by R***A on 10 February 2022* This is the best varnish, for both oil and acrylics! I guess they've sent duplicate product. Definitely not worth for this price. ## Frequently Bought Together - Gamblin Gamvar Pict Varnish 16.9 Oz GlossOrm-D - Gamblin Gamvar Varnish Brush 50mm - Professional Paint Brush for Acrylic Varnish Oil Gesso Polyurethane and More!
