Review: Excellent tool - I bought this for my husband a year ago and it’s working great! This is one of those things that is super useful but also a something a man just loves. I don’t know if it’s more of a tool or a toy because he seems to enjoy using it so much! Heats up quickly, super versatile, great attachments for various tasks.
Review: Update: Great customer service! - I increased my rating to five stars from one cuz of great customer service. After I emailed the manufacturer explaining my problem, they got back to me the next day. After answering a few questions and sending a photo of the serial number, they sent a whole new unit to me and a prepaid label to return the old one. The new one works as it's supposed to, so I upped my rating to five stars. The LX-770 is a really nice torch and soldering iron for a great price. It heats up quickly and burns for a long time on a charge. The kit includes a number of useful soldering and other tips too. One thing you should know that isn't on this desertcart page: the company says only 3X-refined and higher butane should be used, not just "premium" or "high quality" gas. (You can find up to 14X butane out there; I never knew there were different kinds.) But the impurities in regular butane will cause it to not work well and will damage the torch, the company warns, so buy the 3X or higher stuff. It's a bit more expensive, but not much. My original review: This torch had so many good reviews, I really expected to love it. And I did, for the first two days. I planned to use it mostly as a soldering iron, and for two small projects I tried it on, it was great. But then today I was using it to solder some resistors and wires to LEDs. And when I was using it, or when I set it down, it just would stay lit for a short time, and then go out. I could still hear the gas flowing, but there was no flame and it got cold. It would relight, but then the same thing. This happened over and over again, so it was not a fluke. I tried pushing the lock button as far as possible. But the only way I could use it was to keep and hold the safety lever down with my thumb. Which I am not going to do long term. (I am using high-quality 5X butane.) My only choice is to return it. Although I like the design, I am reluctant to buy another Lexivon because of this experience and will probably try another brand. So disappointing!

**Q: Are there replacement soldering tips available? Or are these compatible with some kind of standard soldering tip?**
A: These tips are USELESS! I only did a couple of soldering joins and the tip is already destroyed (the finest pointed one). 
I'm going to get a refund on this and buy a better quality soldering iron kit

**Q: Lexivon: do you have specific brands of butane that you have tested and recommend? searching for triple-refined butane doesn't show many options.**
A: I use both Ronson and Zipo fuel. I picked up a 290ml bottle of Ronson fuel in the plumbing section of my local hardware store. They indicated it was for torches such as the Lexivon.

**Q: does this have variable heat settings?**
A: Yes it has a slider to adjust heat as well as a hold flame. This tool is awesone with all the accessories.  I use it to solder everything from my car to my cell phone logicboard

**Q: Torch works. Why does catalyst head not?**
A: Could be the butane quality. I've had the same issue and replaced the gas with a high quality butane gas like the 'Vector' which is filtered 14x and worked like a charm. Good luck

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ No cord to get in the way. Nice and portable

The tool works as expected. I love the whole kit which makes it easy to keep everything together in one package. So far, I soldered 2 tiny wires with the small chisel tip and used the deflector to heat shrink some connectors. No cord to get in the way. Nice and portable.
