This is a sturdy product and it worked readily. For my purposes I need to attach it to a support arm on my desk. For this you need a tripod screw adapter or some sort.of small nub or tubing end to tighten it down to. You can find tripod screw adapters sold in packs here in amazon. In my case it screws on to the camera attachment. I show a picture, it is NOT included. I had one that came with a support arm. It has a nice long cord not simply to reach the plug under my desk but to facilitate wire management, to hide it along the length of the arm and down under my desk. Consider that in your length requirements. It's not a straight line so I needed the length. Switch on up top will supply constant power so that in my case I can connect a Philips Hue bulb to give my Hone Assistant the power to control the light with my voice. Better than going around turning everything on when someone calls me for a web chat. Obviously a Hue bulb or smart bulb is not part of the deal. This is hard plastic, beefy. I don't anticipate issues with it breaking apart. I don't plan to move it a lot either. It's a light socket. What more is there to it.

These worked beautifully with PAR38 LED e26 connector bulbs and umbrellas. If fit all of my light stands and spigot clamp adapters with no trouble. Plastic construction is stiff enough for the job, and lightweight, making them a good choice for a portable kit. Over all I'd say this is a great option if you need continuous light on a budget.

The lights seem like they are reasonably good quality. I got them for shooting video, and I like the fact that they will fit on my light stands and use my photography accessories. They seem to work best with a shoot-thorough umbrella or umbrella box. If you use a reflecting umbrella, you get a fair amount of direct light from the bulbs, because they are no shaded. I made some shades to block the direct light, but it's no the best system.

Unit is nice and heavy duty....love the 10 ft electrical cord. On/off switch seems heavy duty. Very happy with my purchase. Of course Amazon shipped it right out. Highly recommend these units.

These are cheap, cheaply made, but functional in a home studio environment where they can be handled carefully. I doubt they would hold up to a more demanding environment, but for my purpose, they worked.

As an amateur DSLR photographer I don't have a lot of money to spend on a studio set-up. These sockets have worked perfectly with 85 watt daylight CFL bulbs that are ten inches long. They hold the bulbs securely and have an easy off/on switch on the back of the sockets. My umbrellas mount on the sockets easily. The whole process of setting up stands, sockets, umbrellas and bulbs takes less than five minutes. Highly recommended.

Items are sturdy, holds an umbrella very well and keeps it in place. not too heavy, but not too flimsy. Great Item.

Since I purchased the one foot long fluorescent bulbs for my lighting set, my old sockets not only couldn't be used with the accompanying metal reflectors but also, the umbrella's didn't fit in the umbrella holder slots. I ordered two of these sockets which fit nicely on the top of my stands plus my umbrellas fit properly into them. At the backside of the socket is an easy on/off switch. These were inexpensive and I'm happy with my purchase.

All made of plastic but still fonctionnal and lite. Works fine in a diffuser but the switch is on the back of the socket. It would have been nicer to have it in the middle of the wire. Nonetheless very helpfull with a powerfull led bulb

Me agrada lo compactas que son y fáciles de transportar, muy prácticas y versátiles, tienen un cable bastante largo y un pequeño switch de apagado/encendido en la parte trasera, cumplen con su función pero debido a que sus materiales son completamente de plástico tengo mis dudas en cuanto a durabilidad!!
