## Description

Pelican Protector Cases are made with Copolymer Polypropylene, using an open cell core and solid wall construction, which is stronger and lighter that the completion. You can tell its a Pelican case by the distinctive "twin-ribbed" top surface. Stainless steel pins are used for hinges and handles. The new Double-Throw latches are much easier to open.

Review: nice, strong, safe - This is a great solution if you have a piece of equipment that needs a special case. We simply tore out some of the squares (perforated) and made a nice little nest for our ozone machine that we travel with. Tip - don't get carried away. You can't put it back together if you tear out too much. Do a little and keep testing as you tear out the cube pieces
Review: excellent as always - I own many different Pelican cases in all sizes. As with all of them, this is excellent quality, super robust and every little detail works and fits. The foam is pre-cut and easy to take out section to make it fit your equipment. These cases are made to last. The materials are nothing like the cheap cases from other manufacturers. The handles, hinges locking mechanism, just everything is made to withstand abuse and any temperature. You can drop them in the ocean or leave them out in the rain or snow. But what many people forget, these cases are also excellent for dirty and especially dusty environments. Delicate equipment is save in any environment. Since they are also air tight, it is possible to keep your equipment dry (using Silica gel) in environments of very high humidity. You really can't go wrong with Pelican cases. They might be a little more expensive than other cases but they will last you many many years, maybe even a lifetime thus making the initial investment absolutely worth it. The only downside is that they are not the lightest cases available. The design that makes them so robust also adds extra bulk. If your priority is light weight and size this type of case isn't the ideal solution. For anyone else I highly recommend them!

This is a great solution if you have a piece of equipment that needs a special case. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect / Secure

I bought a cheaper case from a different manufacturer first that explicitly stated "The Cabela's Armor Xtreme Molded Pistol Case has been modified so that the hinge pins cannot be removed when the case is closed." When it arrived this was not true and the hinge pins could be easily pushed out, while closed/locked, with a paper clip. That makes that case completely useless for secure airline travel. I learned my lesson and bought this Pelican like I should have done in the first place. This Pelican case arrived yesterday and it is perfect. The hinges use a one way pin that is difficult to remove without time/tools and the case closes and locks securely. This size is a bit large for transporting a single full frame handgun but I wanted the option of storing one handgun, three mags, and two boxes of ammunition (check your airline regulations) or two full frame handguns with magazines. The 1400 fits a full size M&P9, three magazines, and two 20 round boxes of ammunition with plenty of padding to spare... probably enough to include a light. If you want to go smaller, the 1200 will fit a full frame with two mags nicely but with no room for ammunition. FYI : A 38mm padlock was the sweet spot for the size that would lock this case but with as little wiggle room as possible. When locked, attempting to open the case will only allow it to open a few millimeters - only exposing the inner ridge of the case. So, no worries about anyone trying to pull something small out through the crack. I'm sold on Pelican from now on.
