Review: Spot on. - I've just replaced all 8 factory speakers in my 2004 GMH Monaro/Pontiac GTO/Vauxhall Monaro and these R165S went into the front door (main speakers) and dash top (tweeters), along with extensive acoustic sheeting, and I couldn't be happier. The factory 200w RMS Blaupunkt head unit is now showing its real class, and I've dropped my original plan to change the head unit or add amps to the system. The main speaker fitted with zero modification. I bent the bar that the factory speakers were fitted on to get a better angle on the tweeters, but that's the full extent of mods required. The tweeters can be run from the built in crossover from the main, but I got a better frequency response and more authentic sound using the original tweeter channels. I am getting some unwelcome noise at full volume on tracks with heavy bass, but most of that is coming from less than perfect panel fit on the front doors. I'll fix this when I get a couple of hours spare. FYI - 6.5" Sony Explod 2 ways went into the rear seat side panels & 6.5" Rockford full range 3 ways running from the factory amp replaced the factory "subwoofers" in the rear parcel shelf, which were boxed in very tidily given their minimal height. No subwoofers, no problems. If looking for authentic reference sound the bass volume is adequate and only a few lower end herz are missed. However, if youre a big doof doofer then you would be left wanting.

**Q: i have a 2005 toyota tundra double cab w/ JBL factory system. Will they fit in my front doors? Also, will I need to buy separate mounting brackets?**
A: My dads truck is a 2004 tundra access cab and we were able to fit the 6 3/4 speakers with the tweeters in the front. But we had to cut a hole in the door panel for the tweeter to flush mount in the factory spot. Hope this helps.

**Q: So this is a pair correct**
A: Yes it is a pair. For the price they sound good.

**Q: do you need crossovers?**
A: They are built into the tweeters, so no you will not.

**Q: How bad is it to install the separate components (tweeters etc.)**
A: Its really bad. You need to use a screw driver to undo panels and then get your hands dirty with all the dust inside your doors. I even had to wear gloves!!!But if you mean how hard it is to install the tweeters... Not hard. Just connect them in parallel with the mains and they will work. They will work better if you use a crossover to split the high frequencies from the lower frequencies.
