And also how on my boom arm it doesn't like too screw on securely as the built in shock mount or stand can turn allowing the mic to move where ever needed means I tighten it as much as I would like but it's not a deal breaker. Overall an amazing microphone and sounds incredible for the price(excluding cables and interface and maybe gain booster if needed) and the fact that with some simple EQ it can sound just like the SM7B which seems too be the standard for mics like these I don't know why when this thing exists. So in short in my opinion (baring in mind i came from a blue snowball condenser mic) this thing is insanely good for the price and I don't think I will ever swap mics now. So if you can afford it get it unless you find something you like more. You only need one for condenser microphones as they are allot more sensitive to vibrations from the pc or monitor whatever youre using. **Q: I'm not into podcasting, but would love to know if anyone can recommend this for singing vocals?** A: I saw that the Shure MV7 podcast mic was voted the best for vocals and I think over all multi use I have the Shure MV7 It is a great mic it is amazing sounding and quality as you would expect from Shure :) **Q: Can i plug this straight into my motherboard soundcard mic input if i buy a xlr to 3.5mm audio cable?** A: Short answer is you can but you will run into impedance match issues. This mic is dynamic so there’s no need for 48V Phantom Power. My advice is for you to buy an external audio interface with at least one preamp (XLR input) this will do the job. Nowadays you have decent ones at relatively affordable price tags. The build quality is superb; it is very solid and feels professional and durable—it's built to last. However, as a dynamic microphone, it is a low-gain mic and requires a powerful audio interface. For reference, I use the Scarlett Solo 4th Gen and have to turn the gain almost to the maximum to achieve a proper recording level. Buyers without a strong interface (or a separate Cloudlifter/Fidelizer) should be aware of this requirement.
