Paint pouring—which involves using a free-flowing acrylic paint mixture created with a pouring medium, such as glue and water—is the hottest trend for making abstract art. In this fun, colorful guide, Marcy Ferro explains everything about working in this popular form. Learn how to create eye-catching color combos, set up a dedicated (or a paint-proof) workspace, control your pours, and much more. Along with the essentials, Ferro demonstrates a wide range of techniques, from familiar favorites such as the dirty pour and flip cup to novel ways of manipulating paint with a hair dryer or string. With Marcy’s guidance, mesmerizing paintings are just a pour away! Review: Teaches the techniques very well - I purchased this book to learn how to do pour painting so I could teach a Jr High/High School Vacation Bible School class. Everything was very detailed, easily understood, with many options on different techniques. I made up some samples which came out very well with her instructions! The students I had loved doing it! Many of the adult teachers/helpers were impressed with students projects and how well they did. So you don't need a lot of crafting experience to do it, just follow her instructions & advice. I would recommend the book to anyone wanting to learn the basics of pour painting. Well worth the price which I thought was very reasonable. Review: Great book the explains pour painting, materials and "How To" - this book is very informative and great for the beginner. It has many techniques to try out as well as step by step instructions and pictures to follow along. The book also has "recipes" for paint, different paints to try, and the difference between paints and quality. It is a good resource and knowledge to get anyone started. Definitely your money's worth. Recently, I have watched a few videos by the author, Marcy Ferro. I was absolutely mesmerized by her art and I had to buy this book right away. The book is a paperback and really good quality.
