220 volt power?

I live in Asia with 220 Volt; it works well with the 100-240V 50/60 KHZ socket provided even though the CFL bulbs are 110V each. Works perfect!

Question 2

How do you assemble the boom arm? There are no instructions supplied and there seems to be a piece missing!

I found some videos online for this, but the boom arm looked different and I thought a piece was missing. THIS is a video where the boom arm looks like what comes with this kit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUdBehEGnbs   So, no missing piece...  You have to remove the bracket at the top of the straight-up rod on your stand so you can get the boom arm attachment on.  Loosen it as much as you can and then twist and pull upwards until it comes off. Then the other side of the boom arm attachment holds the rod for the boom arm.  Hope this helps!

Can I use the Softbox with 2 bulbs in & 2 sockets empty, to make less-bright lighting?

The one I bought had switches for two lights at a time.  I don't know of you can run it with two empty, but on one shoot, I knocked it over and two bulbs broke.  The others kept running, but I quickly unplugged it and took it outside, so, I don't know how long it would have run like that.

Question 4

Would this be a good addition to a lowel lighting kit?  I already have professional stands, I really just want the fixtures & softboxes.

I'm a novice and this is my first lighting kit.  I do like the fixtures and light boxes and think they would work for a number of different scenarios.  The back light is a bit short even at it's highest point, so if your stands are strong and tall, you should find this kit worthy the price.
