Very rich programming language. **Q: Does anyone know if there is compatibility with HP41C programs? My old 41C died... sob...** A: Very little compatibility. The object-oriented design makes programs look utterly different, although there's still a stack, and you can still use RPN, so that may give you a leg up. The stack is of indeterminate height instead of XYZT. There's no special alpha register, so alpha output needs to just become an alpha object in the stack. Nonetheless, I rewrote a couple of HP41c programs for HP48g and was happy with the result. Then I rewrote them again for HP33s/HP35s, which are sort of like HP11c and HP15c, or HP41 without the alpha register. By the way I had terrible luck with HP50g. My first one broke for no apparent reason, and I sent a second one back because the battery compartment wouldn't snap shut. On a physical level, these things are crap. **Q: Why is this product so much more absurdly expensive than the HP Prime itself?** A: The HP 50g can do things the HP Prime can not do because the HP 50g has the RPL language that uses a stack; which makes the HP 50g much more powerful than the Prime in many respects. Also, the HP 50g was discontinued by HP in 2015. In November 2020 I purchased two new HP 50g's for $500 each, one used for $200 and another used for $135. I need these calculators for my research. The HP 50g is well worth whatever you pay for it. **Q: Can the font size be changed on the HP 50g?** A: Yes. It has 3 font sizes (8, 7, 6).
