I took the pulley cover off both 1st and 2nd ECCPP compressors to understand where the noise was coming from my 1st ECCPP purchase. Voila! The defective ECCPP was missing a washer shim. So the pulley cover was too close to the pulley and making scraping noise. I just swapped the pulley covers and everything is fine now. No more scraping noise when AC is not running. It was a bad QA problem - missing washer shim. I did not have to remove the defective ECCPP compressor and do a totally reinstall. Thank Goodness. So I am bumping my review back up to 3 *** in fairness to the manufacturer. Fix your QA issues, please.Update: 3 weeks after installation, the compressor is making a lot of clicking metal noise when the AC is off. When the AC is on and the clutch is engaged, the sound disappears. Seems like a bad pulley bearing. I emailed ECCPP. Their warranty solution is for me to bring the compressor to a repair shop. They will reimburse me twenty dollars. I am just going to return this piece of junk. It is still within my return period. Please do not buy. Save yourself from wasted time and effort and aggravation. I saw all the bad reviews on their compressors but I took a chance. It was something that I regret. Now I have to remove this and put in another one.——————I bought this to replace my AC Compressor in my 2003 Infiniti I35. You can tell that this is a quality product just by the packaging alone. The ECCPP fits exactly like my OEM. Everthing bolted on perfectly. Now my AC runs <40 degrees. Thanks ECCPP.
