It's being used with a metal LP platter on a Stanton turntable for a home hifi system. Since I didn't want this mat to slip (just need it to cushion and reduce static), I placed a thin, round, silicon 12" pad underneath it. Silicon pads are used on the rotating glass of microwaves to catch spills. I got my silicon microwave pad from Amazon (Progressive International Silicone 12 Inch Diameter Microwave Mat). It cost about $8.With the 12" silicon pad underneath this wool-like pad the results were very good for home hi-fi use. I like it better than the typical thick rubber LP pads. Only thing I didn't like was the cheesy looking strobe label that is in the center of this slip pad. It looks cheap.
