Does exactly what I want. I did notice that another reviewer couldn’t find the device and I experienced this myself with a different smart home device.If you are experiencing problems setting this up, please try the following. I recently bought a few different smart home devices and found myself experiencing problems. Some of the devices don’t work on a 5Ghz network so I split my router into two networks and connected them to the standard network.However I still found I couldn’t find the devices, I tried a dozen times and eventually messaged the seller who told me to install using TuyaSmart and this resolved all my problems. The devices are found immediately in Tuya Smart and pulled straight through to Alexa.Three steps to resolve problems:1. Ensure your account with Smart Life is setup using either email address or phone number, I ended up setting the app up with phone number and being prompted for an email in the skills section of Alexa2. Ensure your router doesn’t default to 5Ghz network. I use BT and there’s an easy option to split the networks.3. If you can’t find your device/a set up TuyaSmart and the skill in Alexa and hopefully it will resolve your problems. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great alternate to smart plugs *by K***A on 23 April 2019* With an intention to make my house a smart home, I am slowly but surely adding devices that help control appliances. First step was smart plugs, but then I found these. There were a couple of switches in the house that could do with updating and so I bought one of these. What I like is that in addition to being able to control both switches remotely or through Alexa, there are also USB chargers and that’s quite handy. One thing to point out is that USB charging is always on : you can’t switch it off. The other thing is that there is a green led light that’s permanently on apparently showing that the switch is connected to internet. This could be handy or annoying in bedroom at night based on your preference. You need an app to connect these, but it works like a charm with Alexa. I was worried about fitting as is with a lot of other smart switches available in market that require a deeper setting but this was super easy : it’s just a replacement for standard UK switch, even the screws are the same : more or less. I would not replace all my switches with these, especially in bedrooms that I prefer darker, but for all others it’s great especially given the utility of USB charging. I have the kettle hooked onto one plug of these and all I have to do is ask Alexa to turn on kettle or better still just set up a schedule and that’s my morning cuppa sorted when I am running getting kids ready. Very happy with the purchase. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good addition with usb feature *by D***E on 30 March 2019* This is exactly what I was looking for. I had invested few pounds on plugs and switches but this makes life even more easier. It works on smart life which also is same as my plug and switch. So no new app. Add to this is USB port as well.
