The length and slim fit keeps them mostly in place with minimal sliding around. I wear them for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and NoGi grappling. They work great. Unfortunately they only last about a month or two. I have had two pairs so far and after a while the hex pads start to separate from the pad leaving you with bare spots and spots where there are just tiny pads bunched up. The first pair I washed and dried. The second pair I only washed and let air dry as I thought maybe it was the heat from the dryer that was responsible, it didn't matter either way. So while I like the pads better than any other I have tried, at this price I wish they would last longer.**Update - I contacted McDavid directly to let them know my feelings on the durability of this product. They told me they would pass my thoughts on to the design team, and he offered to send me a new pair with "TFLEX coating over the hex padding making them more durable." I appreciate the good customer service. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Mixed experience on quality, but my sons love these leg sleeves *by L***2 on July 14, 2015* My son loves these (age 11, wears a medium)! I have probably ordered 6 pair over the past year and I would say 2 of the pair didn't make it past day 1 of practice on an indoor basketball court and immediately had holes in them. The others have lasted 6 months so I am not sure what the deal is. Either way, Amazon and the manufacturer didn't give me any problems exchanging the ones that didn't make it past one wear. This is why I love Amazon! These stay up great. My 7 year old fits into a small and he has skinny legs. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Grappler's best friend *by R***N on April 26, 2014* I have been using this for Judo, wrestling, and BJJ for a few months now. It holds up well to washing, stays in place and protects during wrestling shots, and protects when I land on my knees in Judo. I don't know what difference the sleeve makes for compression, but I know it helps keep the pads in place to have more sleeve. I highly recommend this, but do make sure to get the right size (via sizing chart on McDavid's website).
