The product you have chosen has a carabiner at one end and an adjustable hook at the other. The carabiner is particularly useful for attaching to tarp D-Rings or eyelets or where the cord is passed through the carabiner to form a loop. In your application, the carabiner can be attached to the hook "easy grip" finger hole creating a closed loop that can then be then tightened around the AC cover. Remember though that the stretched length of one cord is around 70". If you need more length I suggest joining 2 cords together by interlocking the carabiners to give a potential stretched length of around 140". You probably wont need this length so just lock the hooks along the bungee cords to give you the approximate length required, interlock the hooks to form a loop, and tension up if required by pulling on the free end of one of the cords.
