Review: A Practical Read with Loads of Biblical Scripture Referencing - Hi, everyone. I purchased this book because this was the chosen book for my church's Women's Bible Reading Book Club. Before reading this book I thought that I was advanced in giving thanks, but this book revealed to me that there is way more fruit of thanksgiving opportunities that I was missing out on. It also has been a good supplemental read as I read through the Book of Numbers (i.e., the grumbling Israelites in the wilderness passages) during my Bible studies. The book does a great job on unpacking what choosing gratitude in our own lives can look like. It took me on a journey closer to the heart of God. I liked the heartfelt gratitude message backed by personal life experiences, results, and copious amounts of Bible scripture referencing. I also liked the thought-provoking, insightful, and encouraging writing style of Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth. I liked how the book educated me about the importance of what living a life of Christ-like gratitude towards God and others is. Nancy goes above and beyond by adding a practical life application 30-Day Gratitude Devotional at the end of the book to help guide her readers into hopefully developing a natural propensity to being grateful (and even helped me to be more forgiving) in every life situation. Basically, I believe it is choosing to find and giving thanks about the roses instead of whining about just the thorns. Showing my gratitude to others opens up more opportunities for me to share The Gospel with others. I have already completed reading all the chapters of the book and I'm currently on day 19 of the 30-Day Devotional. I am quite pleased how much joy and peace is in my heart since I have expressed more intentional and consistent gratitude and love to God, to those around me, and being more Christ-like. I look forward to completing the 30-days and continuing this healthy habit in the future.
