Great item after a stroke.
My son had a stroke and this came in so handy. I bought this even before he started PT and it's helped him learn to feed himself again.

Love this!
I bought this for my son after speaking with his therapists. My son is visually impaired and was having issues with keeping food on his plate when using utensils, he eventually gave up on utensils and it was a fight every meal. With the addition of this plate (we also have the bowl) meal time is no longer a fight and he is successfully using his utensils again because of the plates ability to not only keep the food on the fork/spoon but help scoop it on as well.

Garbage
This is easily the worst product I've ever purchased. It went in the trash approximately 2 minutes after its first use! The "suction cup" on the bottom of the plate is not attached to the bowl. It is a separate piece of rubber that fits around a ridge that sticks out from the bottom of the plate. It doesn't fit well at all so my daughter was able to just pick the plate up off of it like it wasn't even there. The suction part doesn't suction that well either because it's not a cup. So, even if you couldn't just pick the plate up off of it, it doesn't stick well. Most useless purchase ever.

Something I could easily give five stars except for...
It's a little smaller than I thought (in spite of reading the specifications) but it still works for our needs. My BIGGEST issue is that the suction ring around the bottom keeps coming off and is incredibly touchy to get back on. If it happens to come off when it's mealtime it's just a hassle. Otherwise a good product. That lip is perfect.

Suction Issue
My suction piece for both of the plates I got doesnt stay around the base of the bowl, it just pops off IF you can even get it on, so Ive ended up just using the plates with no suction...which defeated the purpose of me getting suction plates...lesson learned. The concept of the lip on the plate is nice though because it prevents AS much mess..
