Every book I have read for at least the last year or two has been "meh" for me. Even from well-known authors whom I have read and enjoyed for years. Same plots, same circumstances, same dilemmas, same tepid characters. Yawn...So I thought, well, I haven't read Connie Brockway in a while, so I picked this up and REALLY loved it. It was a delight! An oasis in the desert of my romance megrims (that's kind of a twisted metaphor, but you know what I mean). To me it really says something about a book that--once finished--you want to start it all over again. This was that kind of book.One of my top ten romance books is her "The Bridal Season" and although not all her books have been home runs, this one was out of the park. I really loved Grey and Fannie and the secondary romance, while not as compelling, was actually vital to the book's plot.Her writing is always fresh and her characters believable and lovable. Her sex scenes are romantic without being too erotic and repetitive.I highly recommend this book. A DIK as they say on All About Romance, and one I will definitely read again. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Enchantingly refreshing romance *by P***A on Reviewed in the United States on May 28, 2014* This is my first Connie Brockway romance and definitely NOT my last. The storyline was refreshing - I enjoyed the fact that the h/h each had time to mature from their first encounter. They were then, in my opinion, much more evenly matched when they next met. I also enjoyed their verbal sparring - amusing and strangely charming. It was definitely a turn-on for the H!
