You need to have it on the top of bottom of the gun to align the laser properly. There isn't enough laser up/down movement when mounted on the side.It has a rotary selector for off / torch only / laser only / torch and laser.Pros:- Bright light- Good build quality- Light weight- Plug in remote touch pad.Cons:- Tight rail attachment- Laser adjustment range not enough for mounting on the side of an AEG.- Uses non-rechargeable batteries- Torch button is disabled when the remote touch pad is fittedOverall this is recommended if you can live with the tight rail attachment and low range of windage adjustmentUpdate: I bought some connectors for the remote button and fitted a push button into my vertical grip so I now have a very useful torch thats quick and easy to activate. Definitely a good buy for the money. Not had a chance to test battery life yet, but I can see them lasting a while due to how often it’s actually switched on.
