STANLEY Home Tool Kit with Case, 65 Piece (94-248)

Needed a toolkit for our first place (Ikea furniture galore) and this was exactly what we were looking for. Tools aren't extraordinary quality or anything, but they get the job done! Lots of interchangeable bits for the ratchet and screwdriver which is awesome, and even though they don't have a very secure-feeling fit into the handle piece, they don't fall out. I wouldn't use the ratchet on anything requiring a lot of torque though (i.e. car part bolts) as it has plastic switch and might break. Box cutter is VERY sharp which is great, but be careful (!!!!!!!) and be sure to use the lock function on it when cutting or when you close it. Ends of the philips and flathead screwdrivers are magnetized which is always a plus! My only annoyance with this kit is the toolbox it comes in; a couple things (allen wrenches, measuring tape) never stay in their spot inside the kit, which isn't that big of a deal. Also, upon reception the toolkit handle was held together with a screw which I found ironic and oddly hilarious; be sure to have a philips screwdriver handy to take it out. If you're looking for a simple tool kit that gets the job done for a good price, this is it!

I asked for this tool kit for my birthday and part of the present was that it STAYS IN THE HOUSE! I will share it with my husband but he can never, ever take the kit to the garage or to the tool shed. He definitely uses it more than me but always leaves it complete and in the hall closet where I can go grab whatever I need at any time for my own projects. It has saved me the hassle of rummaging through the garage for the right tool for a task and I absolutely love it. The pieces are definitely for more than lightweight duty but you probably wouldn't want to construct a residence with the kit. I think it is the perfect kit for around the house, for a new homeowner, or for the high school graduate who is moving out for the first time. I specifically searched for the kit that had all the tools I desired and this was it. Each tool stays in place very well also. I have had other kits where this was not the case and this kit beats each of them hands down.

I have to admit that I’m a bit giddy over this purchase. I owned a similar Stanley tool kit years ago but lost it in Mexico while participating in a mission trip building homes. I looked for a very long time for a replacement but was only finding small kits with pink handled tools such as small inferior hammers, too small measuring tapes etc. So glad to come across this treasure. I use it all the time for small repairs around the house and light construction on numerous craft projects. I like that all the tools I’ll most likely need are represented and ready to go. All I have to do is grab and go. My biggest complaint is that my family keep pilfering my kit for their use. Haha. Bought one for my oldest daughter and plan on purchasing 2 more for younger daughter and daughter-in-law now that both are first time homeowners. Highly recommend this as a gift.

For the price I paid for this unit (which was around $30, after shipping), I expected much worse than what I got. I've easily spent just $30 on a hammer before. The first annoyance came when the carrying case was screwed closed. This creates a bit of a chicken-and-the-egg problem! Sort of like when scissors are wrapped in that stupid industrial-strength plastic. Keep this in mind if you are buying this kit when you have zero tools at all, or are gifting this to someone who has zero tools at all. The second annoyance was when I actually got the darn thing open half of the tools had came loose and decided freedom was better than being couped up in their carrying case. This wouldn't be a problem exactly except for *why* they fell out: the tools hardly fit in the top half of the carrying case! In my case (heh), the needle nose pliers simply do not fit. This is livable as the case still pretty much closes even with one or a few tools expressing their freedom, though you might have to muscle it a bit (and deal with them attacking you when you open it next). The case itself is neither too big nor too heavy for me. My case is roughly 10" by 15" by 3" when closed (it secures by two clasps), which fits nicely within a small storage closet. However, all of the tools work fine and I've had no issues with rust. Overall I'd say this is a good package if you want some basic tools to have around the house at a pretty economical price. Just pick up a $4 mini screwdriver or something before you order it.

Over the years, I've always tried to keep a small toolbox handy in the house, and I'll keep a selection of tools there for basic needs. The problem is this - over time tools tend to get lost or dispersed around the house, at least they do if we aren't diligent in returning them to the toolbox after use. Tools end up in drawers in the kitchen or elsewhere in the house or garage or tool shed, and then when the time comes and we need a screwdriver, it's not where we think it should be. This reasonably priced took kit is one solution to that problem. It includes most of the commonly used tools for many household needs, they all fit into the tool kit in an organized way, and since each tool has a pre-determined place, if you neglect returning the tool after use, it's immediately obvious. I particularly like that this includes a small level, always handy especially when moving or adjusting clothes washer and dryer or other appliances. It's not everything that I like to keep on hand - I also keep at least one Vise-Grip Locking Pliers handy, as well as a medium sized Crescent Wrench and probably also a Channellock Plier . I've also purchased several sets like this Craftsman Slotted Phillips Screwdriver Set, 8 Piece over the years from Sears, with various combinations of screwdrivers that are always handy. Which is to say that there isn't any tool kit that will satisfy all needs, but this particular one is a nice starting point.

I bought this as a Christmas present for my father to put in his vehicle for emergency use. My father owns hundreds of tools, and I have seen the Stanley brand here and there around the house. So when I found this, I knew it would make a great Christmas gift. It includes a tape measure, a hammer, a screwdriver, and leveler, a box cutter, and many more tools to use, It comes with a plastic carrying case which would look like it would wear down after so many uses. It's currently tight to take out and place tools back in so we will have to see how long it would last. Overall, it has many of the necessary tools that you would need, especially the different types of bits for the Drive Bit holder. The tools look extremely well made and look like tools that will last a long time since steel is usually a good material to use.. I am glad I made this purchase and would consider buying my own tool kit of the exact kind. I have read the older reviews stating how it had a screw in the actual case to prevent it from being opened. The company has read the reviews because the product I received had a small zip tie instead of the screw. If anything faulty happens down the line, I will update my review. What I love most about this kit is that is=t comes with two of the most commonly used screwdrivers (flat and Philips), where you don't need to add a tip to the handle. I use these two the most, but when I need a different size, I still have those available to me. It's a complete set, so after more than 5 years, everything that I have ever needed was already in the kit. The only negative is that sometimes it's hard to snap the hex keys or the bits into place. I might put them in the correct location but when I open up the kit the next time, sometimes they are floating around in the case (not the individual pieces, but as a group). It's a minor nuisance and not worth subtracting a star.

All I wanted was a set of tools JUST for me! Not for the garage, not the shed, not the basement, just for ME! A whole complete set of tools only I can use! Why? Because nothing ever goes back where it belongs, and can not be found when it is needed! Why do we own 3 hammers, and none of them are in the tool chest? No one has an answer around here--so I asked for a set of my own. I ADORE THEM! They case closes tightly, so if/when it is dropped, nothing gets lost, and I can store it closed and sideways without worrying that there will be an avalanche when I open it. I got every tool I could possibly need in one tiny place--and I can HIDE them easily! I can fix any problem in the house now without heading out into the garage to dig through whatever project is in the works to find whatever it is I was told would be right there in plain sight! My tools are in their case, under the sink. A place no one will ever look except me for anything. I can hang a picture, tighten screws, and assemble an IKEA piece of furniture with this kit--and I always know where a measuring tape is! This kit gets a ton of use from me, and is one of the coolest and most loved gifts I have ever gotten! :)

Really useful toolbox with all the basics and essentials. Quality of the products is quite good, they've got a good weight to them so they don't feel super cheap. My only gripe about it is the moulding of the case doesn't always keep the tools from falling out of place so they just end up rolling around in there once I've managed to close it. Overall, definitely a good purchase!

Does the job perfectly for a normal household! It is great to be able to go to one box for everything (except for an electrical drill - you have to acquire one separately ).

For the price ? This is a no brainer. Excellent set of tools, in a nice storage format. The only tool that felt of lesser quality was the box cutter. Mine broke rather quickly, granted I wasn't particularly gentle with it. But I wasn't even upset, this is still an excellent set. Every other tool in this feels like really good quality.
