My footwear includes many items from Lucchese Classics to Alden to Allen Edmonds to Giorgio Armani, so I know quality when I feel it.I hear a lot of reports that Frye boots should be purchased a half to full size small, and I suspect that this is being said by guys who typically wear tennis shoes; those almost always run around a size small. If you're accustomed to wearing quality leather dress shoes and boots, then most likely you will want to purchase these in your usual size. I did, and this worked well for me.So far, I've worn these boots three times. Each time, it seems like I get compliments from everybody around me.It's not every day that you'll pull on a pair of boots that are designed to be perfectly flattering, while at the same time safely masculine. These are just that.The leather is polished to a subdued sheen with a slightly burnished toe, making the boots work very well with jeans. So there's no worry that your'e gonna look like the DB's in their jeans and shiny dress shoes. God bless 'em.I'm sure you've read that this 150 anniversary line from Frye are all made in the USA which is great! Many of Frye's other boots are made in Mexico, and that is also fine. Unfortunately, Frye has begun making many of their products in China, and those should be avoided at all cost. Outsourcing to avoid Labor Union salaries is one thing, but outsourcing to China, where the laborers don't even own shoes, let alone know how to make them is another thing entirely.I'm confident that if you buy these, you're gonna like them.
