Bosch asked flooring contractors how a laser layout tool could make their work easier, and the GTL3 is the solution. It generates layout lines at 0 and 90 from a single setup. The highly visible laser beams are elevated to go past several objects, and the laser has a strong magnet and a steel positioning plate for maximum versatility. Select 0 and 90 degrees lines plus optional 45 degree layout line at the press of a button. This layout laser provides 0, 45, 90 and 135 layout lines from a single setup point. Review: Hands down the best Laser Square - I've been a tile contractor for more than thirty years and have been using laser tools since they first came out. Back then you could pay thousands of dollars for a spinning line laser. I have used Dewalt ,Rubi, Straightline, other bosch's, etc. and this one is the best. I kinda balked at the price because now you can get good laser's for about half of what this sells for if you watch sales. Now that I have this one I wish I would have got it years ago. The line is crisp ,narrow but consistent and bright and best of all it has a 45 degree feature. the design allows you to have the tool behind the lines you are checking/creating. Some lasers sit right on the line wihich makes it harder to use when you have already set the tile and are checking them for square. After a new purchase I always double check my laser squares to make sure they are precise and this one is the most accurate I've ever had and it seems to be solidly built. I even use it for single lines because unlike most lasers this one is the same thickness from the start all the way to thirty feet out and more. I'm getting one for all my tile setters. If you've never used a laser square this one pays for itself in one or two jobs.

I'm sure if you're using regular spacers and not those wedges and spinners, you won't need any adjustment to the height, but with the spinners and the wedges, you'll need a box or something to set it on to get over the big blocks that those levelers create. What makes this still a5 start product is twofold. 1. It's been around since before those gigantic spinners and levelers. 2. It shoots a plane of light instead of just a beam, so, if you raise it up, like setting it on a box or bucket, it'll still shine a line where you need it to.

**Q: Are there any levels on the product (or mounting plate) to ensure a level line when using on walls?  Or do I have to set a level on the laser line?**
A: Thank you for your question. The Bosch GTL3 comes with a leveling plate to allow positioning of the measuring tool flat on an uneven or unstable floor. The plate can also be used as a wall bracket for the measuring tool and use a level to fix the leveling plate flat on the surface. **Q: Has anyone tried using this to install hardwood flooring? Can it draw a line half inch away from the wall?**
A: It can project a line approx. 3/4" from and parallel to the wall.  However, the 45 & 90 deg. lines will be aimed at the wall.  Therefore, it will only be useful to project a straight line, not using the squaring function.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great indoors. Worthless out of doors.

This laser is simple to use and it works well indoors. It was useless for me outdoors, even on a completely cloudy day. There was no point in trying it outdoors on a sunny day. I did try it outdoors after dark and it worked well. I wish I had it years ago for tile work indoors. I REALLY like the way this unit is designed. It can be backed into a corner of a room so that it rests against both walls. I had an earlier version of this general type of right angle laser, and the back of it was rounded. From a top down view, it looked like a piece of pie or wedge of cheese. It could not be registered against anything. I really disliked that design. The Bosch design is much better. I also like the way this Bosch laser tool projects the lines a short distance up the walls. This allows me to put registration marks on the wall. Marks on the floor will eventually be covered up by the floor covering. Marks on the wall won't suffer that fate. I would recommend this tool.
