I really love those, especially on the glass patio table abd kitchen island. They achieve almost everything I want from them, except they’re kinda too ugly for the living room.So when I saw these, I was pretty excited. Absorbent and attractive both? Yay!Sadly, they are not quite right. The metal ring is ever so slightly too tight over the silicone base, which causes the silicone to bow outward. I’m sure this is something to do with keeping the base firmly inserted in the ring, but it can really be a problem, because the convex bottom means the coaster does not sit fully flat on the table, which is a problem with certain drink ware.A heavy glass of iced tea is generally fine since it presses the base down flat to the table.But something like a stemmed wine glass is not heavy enough to press the coaster down flat to the table, which renders them noticeably unstable.
