If it's organic in nature, then yes, this product should help. However, this product will not help/work overnight as the typical off-the-shelf "instant" products do. The longer you can leave the product in the pipe without washing it down, the better the enzyme's have to eat away the organic material.I purchased this product to help with a slow bathroom sink that was draining slowly. I let the product sit for 24-hours, but it didn't help. I repeated for three additional 24-hour periods, and it still didn't help. I eventually went with an off-the-shelf product that said it was guaranteed to bust through hair. It did the trick.I wrote the company asking why it didn't work, and a Mike Green responded with the following:Chris,The Flo-Zyme is designed to be used to dissolve organic waste like grease, oils, fats and proteins from food in kitchen drains and grease traps. It seems it wouldn't be able to reach the pipes before being flushed.** A: I'm not a plumber, however I understand that slow-flushing toilets are generally related to mineral deposits, which this will not resolve. Also, when it arrived there was a sticky on the container indicating that it is not designed for home use. **Q: Can this be used in a residential home (built in 2011) toilet?** A: I used in toilets in my historic home to kill the odor when I first moved in. No problems. **Q: Can this product be used in toilets?** A: I can't imagine any problem with doing so. My only suggestion would be to add as much HOT water and flush, maybe a second pan of HOT water. I always run a sink spigot as hot as possible for a while before using any drain cleaner.
