I've used them for twenty years, so I can speak of them with confidence both in terms of function and being long lasting.The padding on either side of the hanger keeps clothing from slipping off (who needs to keep having to readjust your clothing so it sits on the hanger right, or picking up items that have fallen off when you move things around in your closet?). It also helps keep clothing from stretching out because the padding grips the cloth evenly, minimizing the downward drag of gravity on the cloth.So far there's been no wear and tear on the padding, so they look and work as well as they did when I first got my first ones twenty years ago.I love the fact that they are made out of metal. Metal is strong. This metal doesn't bend, so the hangers don't lose their shape and aren't going to break like so many of the cheap wire ones or plastic ones. And being metal, they are much more sustainable and environmentally friendly. Instead of ending up in the dump and not decomposing for decades, these can be recycled as metal in the future.The hook on the front allows you to hang the hangers side by side in a closet, or hang things vertically.
