I have a hard time working with normal curling irons because the curls would just loosen up within 2-3 hours. Most hair sprays/curling agents also does not work on my hair, my hair loosens up within 2-3 hours as well.What worked for me was a flattening iron I bought for $100 at the mall. I tried it out at the mall, and made sure the curls (yes, you can curl hair with a straightening iron) does not loosen up before I bought it (I can make it stay without hair spray).However, I was quite disappointed with this product since it is similar in pricing to my flattening iron. In fact it was a little more expensive than the flattening iron I bought at the mall and it was definitely not as good. The curls do not come out very natural, compared to the curls from a flattening iron. Also, I wrapped my hair around the curling iron for quite a bit of time (5-10 seconds) and the curls sometimes do not even come out, and if it does come out it was not natural at all. Plus, it loosened up within 2-3 hours as well.I'm not advocating you to NOT buy this product, but to beware especially if you have really thick, tough to curl hair. You might want to go try some different brands at the mall and make sure they're for you rather than purchase this product blindly online just because many people say it works well. I have the Sedu flat iron that I am obsessed with so I thought this would be the same great quality...it's not.I am glad I went with the 19cm because it does both tight and loose curls depending on the amount of hair you section out. Sometimes my hair sticks to it when I'm curling it, and I've used a wand for a long time so it's not a technique issue. I also own the Remington 'Pearl' curling wand that I LOVE. I'd say, the Remington wand one gives more defined and long lasting curls, and the Sedu one leaves my hair softer and feels less damaging. I have long, fine, straight hair that never holds curl. Not only was the Sedu easy to use, my curl held all day. The next day I was able to wear my hair down and it still had soft waves...wow. With such fine hair traditional curling irons and flat irons fried my ends, but I have no damage, even after multiple uses, to my ends after using the Sedu.
