During the height of the war in Afghanistan, a young aspiring journalist gets the opportunity of a lifetime when he is embedded with a small band of American soldiers. After a surprise attack, they become separated from their unit and find themselves trapped in an insurgent bunker, surrounded on all sides by the enemy. During their time together, the journalist is able to interview these brave soldiers and uncover who they are, where they come from and their unique personal path they have taken. He finds that in the face of terror, there is still kindness and hope, even in the worst face of humanity. He tells us their stories.

Purely Fake Fiction - a Completely Classless "Fakeumentary!"
Where to start? First of all, no way this is a documentary, there are countless indicators that this producer is a fraud to call it that. Many people choosing this title seem to have been led to believe this is a documentary of some sort - but it's pure fiction and totally fake. At times, it appears to be trying very hard to look real, but falls short to anyone with actual knowledge on the subject. It's just the producer's political views on the war being mouthpieced by fake soldiers. So - Firstly, the US Army had very limited ops in Helmand in 2006, it was primarily NATO and the ANA/ANP units, along with heavy presence of Brits (including the damn tough Gurkha's and Scots) with a few US Marines here and there during that time. By mid '07, it really started to heat up with 6th, 7th, and 8th Marines showing up there to lend themselves to the effort. For sure, the US Army 10th Mountain and 101st Airborne were certainly not running regular foot patrols there at that time, they would have been walking through the middle of Taliban central if they tried to do that.Second, these actors/soldiers in this so-called "documentary" are wearing all kinds of unit patches at the same time - more than one is wearing the 10th Mountain patch UPSIDE DOWN on his right arm, with the 101st Airborne patch on the his left side! Furthermore, in the beginning, the reporter claims he is to be embedded in a "Specific Unit" but it's not even named. I think I could have forgiven this whole thing if they didn't decide to wear real unit patches. The soldiers in the 10th Mountain and 101st Airborne are some of the finest fighting men in the world, and they've earned those patches. You have NOT. Show some respect. But I digress...Not one of these so-called "soldiers" has legitimate Army-Issue kit or loadout from that era, none are carrying anything close to a basic ammo or supply loadout for any US Army platoon ready for walking patrol in country - and I highly doubt any of these little chicken-effers could handle the real thing anyway - given the 120 degree heat and the sheer weight of full battle-rattle! No DM's, Gunners, AT4's, Grenades, etc in the "specific unit" that remains unnamed, nobody running NVG or NV gear - not even an Aimpoint or ACOG on any of their rifles. They've got NO Camelbacks, or water, and I think I even saw one guy with an old (and probably fake) PEQ24 glued to his gun. Nothing here even resembles reality folks! To me, these guys all look like NOOB airsofters that decided it would be cool to impersonate real men - and make a movie about what they dream about while they are all tucked in by their mommies each night, dreaming about playing Call of Duty tomorrow with their friends. Just take a look at their standoff distances while "walking" patrol. One RPG and they're all toast - or just a grenade would suffice.Don't waste your time, this is about the worst "fakeumentary" about real military operations that you are likely to find out there... Does NO SERVICE and delivers NO RESPECT for the brave men and women who lost their lives in Helmand back then. Let's not lie about what happened there - stop confusing people! Nobody who was actually in Helmand in 2006 deserves this kind of fake BS - not even the damn enemy! Call this what it is - and make sure anyone watching knows it's a BS Amateur fantasy film, not a documentary that is "UNFILTERED, RAW AUTHENTICITY" If there were NEGATIVE STARS, this would get at least one.Amazon should be ashamed to allow this kind of deceptive listing. This is nothing more than some producer's political propaganda film.

lame
worst movie I've ever seen. The worst representation of combat, military life, or just anything about the military I have ever seen. I served 15 years in combat arms, spent time in afghanistan, and served with the best and the worst. This doesn't come close to representing any of that.

the acting was horrible. Don't waste your money or time
This movie was poorly done and not realistic. Take for instance on their first patrol, one soldier was wearing a backpack that resembled something bought from Kmart. And in some scenes, the soldiers were not wearing tactical ballistic vests, nor did they carry spare mags for their M-4s and pistols. This movie is an insult to all soldiers, Marines and sailors. Oh...the acting was horrible.Don't waste your money or time. Both are far too precious.

If you are Prior service or just like realism...RUN!!!!
No realism. As soon as I saw everybody on the patrol had the same combat patch, 10th Mountain. So a whole squad from 10th Mountain transferred to the 101st. Then in the bunker the patches change sides. 101st becomes combat patch and 10Th becomes current unit??? Oh, and the U.S. Army Tape goes over your heart, the left side not the right. Unlikely...And what is with those Ruck's?? How about some spare ammo?? and NVG's. I wont get into how many guys had sidearms....Jeez hire a technical advisor...

Skip this movie title immediately
Can't even begin to explain how fake. I saw the worst muzzle discipline. I fact when they walked a wedge formation in the beginning with a SAW heavy right and the barrel was pointed directly at the soldier in front of him the entire time instead of scanning right... Instant fake I knew it. Not including the whack kevlar helmets with crooked chin straps. We had Mitch helmets in 2006 already. Should be a stolen valor violation for poor re acting Afghan conflicts. Absolute worst

Really bad movie..... Unless you know nothing about the military...
If your going to make a movie about the military atleast make sure its accurate. Guys may talk somewhat like soldiers and that's were it ends. Glad I didn't pay for that 5 minutes of hell.

As a vet this movie is horrible. I have some sympathies for people trying to make a movie and being low budget. This movie is some crap producer trying to make a heart liberal tugging drama to make you feel bad for the terrorists. Your time would be better spent throwing rocks in a helmet then this garbage. I wish I could give it less then one star.
