how much weight can the pack handle without compromising the integrity of it?

The recommendation is about a third of your body weight however you could probably put more in it because these are heavy duty bags

If u keep all the flaps closed and draw strings pulled it repels rain. But no if it sits in snow/mud/standing water it eventually gets wet inside

Kinda a stupid question but and i've had to deal with this in the usn, if not using frame does the ruck have it's own straps attached?

Not really sure haven't taken off frame

Not sure of number just search military rucksacks or backpacks
