Review: Love it as a software engineer - I initially ordered this scanner to make my own custom POS system. Initially, I connected through Bluetooth and it was recognised as a plug and play device. It was essentially a wireless keyboard which scans text, types it very fast and adds a ‘return’ key at the end. I was amazed to go to the support website and find tons of different ways to program this scanner and the most important one to me was that it supported Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). With this, I could connect directly to the app I was developing and send data back and forth from the barcode. One thing I’d like to see improved is a way to send and receive silent messages. Right now, I can request the scanner’s battery level by sending a code to the scanner but this trigger’s the scanner’s beep just like as if it was physically scanned. Initially, I connected through Bluetooth and it was recognised as a plug and play device. It was essentially a wireless keyboard which scans text, types it very fast and adds a ‘return’ key at the end. I was amazed to go to the support website and find tons of different ways to program this scanner and the most important one to me was that it supported Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). Another need was to be able to reliably scan the barcodes on long stockist sheets and again this model achieves this. What it cant do is scan QR Codes. What is also good is the fact that you can interface with a Mac/ PC/ iPad using Bluetooth/Cable/Wireless. Another good thing with this scanner is that the battery will last for a large number between Charges.
