## Description

Pachmayr's Compac Grips are made from a specially formulated black rubber compound and are designed to maintain concealability. Although compact in design, Compac Grips still give a shooter total control, Compac Grips provide a secure, non-slip finish. That's why they are the plainclothes officer's preferred way to a more positive grip without compromising concealability. Review: Typical Pachmayr improvement over stock grip - Purchased for use on a Rock Island M206. Fits pretty well, gap on the front strap that isn't annoying - probably a few more turns on the screw will make that gap smaller, or some judicious trimming on the inside. Love how it improves the handling of the gun, and is grippy enough to handle well without being too rubbery and catching on everything. One other note, and it may be specific to the M206, but regular speed loaders don't work well with this grip, getting caught when inserting rounds. I went with speed strips for reloads.
Review: Fits Vintage D-Frame Colts Perfectly - I bought the large and the small versions of these Pachmayr grips for a Colt Detective Special, manufactured circa 1976, and a Colt Cobra, made in 1969 or thereabouts. (Not to be confused with the new version also called Cobra, which I do not believe will accommodate these grips.) Both have identical grip frames. The original checkered wood grips are beautiful but recoil is punishing. These replacement grips not only tame the felt recoil but also keep your hand from riding up the grip when the barrel flip forces the rear of the revolver down. Installation took less than five minutes. The only thing to remember is that the nut comes attached to the screw supplied with the grips and you need to first detach it, nest it in the hole on the right-side grip, and then thread the screw through from the left. It's not like the screw on the old version where the threads go directly into receiving threads on the right-side grip. Fit the nut into the indentation first; tighten the screw until the gap in front closes (the Pachmayr grip is one-piece and closes around the frame like a clamshell) and you're good to go.

**Q: How would you describe the grip material? Is it rubber or a hard plastic?**
A: I would call it a medium hard rubber.

**Q: Will these grips allow the use of speed loaders?**
A: No.  I put these on a Rock Island Armory model 200 with 4" barrel.  The grips are 5 star except HKS speed loader touches the grip and will not work.  I tried shaving down the grip to the point I exposed the metal that's part of the rubber grip.  That was a lot of work and a total waste of an hour. My shaving the rubber spoiled the look of the grip, but did not affect grip function.  Your mileage may vary.

**Q: Will this fit a 1983 Colt 38 Commando special?**
A: yes it should fit,the Commando model was a parkerized detective special D frame Colt.

**Q: Would this fit a Colt Agent 1964 make?**
A: These grips fit my 1968 Colt Detective. Hope that helps.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fits great on my '67 Colt Cobra .32 NP

I inherited a Colt Cobra that seems to be a 1967 model (Serial 23****LW "COBRA MODEL/AIRCREWMAN/COURIER/AGENT & VIPER"). Wooden Colt medallion grips were well worn and uncomfortable. I noticed that the backstrap on my pre-71 Colt did not extend to the bottom of the grips. Based on some of the reviews here, I realized I was GTG with these grips. They came fast and were in perfect condition. Really improves the point of aim on my Cobra, feels super comfortable in the hands and I am sure when I shoot it, it will absorb the shock of the venerable .32 S&W Long. Grip is grippy, good looking and rejuvenated my revolver. It is now a very competent carry gun. Thanks to those who asked and answered questions about this grip!
