My big problem is that it ‘walks’ as I have it on a carpet to protect the carpet from the dogs. Every time the dogs or the humans step on the covering it moves and I am now like a jack in the box. Down to move it back and up again. **Q: Is it safe to use on the stairs** A: I would say definitely not. We found it did not grip the carpet it was on and moved about and the edges themselves were slippery. I don't think it is designed anyway to be used on stairs but, whether it is or not, it would not be safe in my opinion.
