Now as you probably know, when we make the boards, we start with huge sheets of plywood. If those boards were divided equally without any loss, you would get perfect 4' x 2' boards. However when those boards are cut, you lose a bit of material from what the saw takes away. Therefore you end up with something marginally smaller, but per ACA Guidelines, they are still considered ACA regulation size. If each board were to be exactly 4' x 2', there would be a huge waste of wood and make the boards far more expensive.
