## Questions & Answers

**Q: Im not clear on how this attaches to cast iron tables. Do I need to purchase a horizontal section?**
A: Yes you need the MAGSWITCH STARTER KITSKU: 8110134. $77.25, worth the price.

**Q: Can you clamp down a piece of steel sheet metal to an aluminum top table to use magswitches?**
A: Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your product question. Yes, you could clamp down a piece of anything that is magnetic and it would hold. However, you want to make sure that whatever you are clamping down is held firm.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

**Q: I have a question about Magswitch products, how does it hold down to the table, is there a magnet that holds to a metal surface or screw it down?**
A: Magswitches are magnetic "jigs" that attach to a metal surface to hold whatever type of jig or accessory they are mounted on or in. It is actually a system with a basic unit base that can be built on for various functions and jigs. The magnetic "switches" connect and disconnect with a turn of the knob and set in the basic base or the switches can be mounted in your own jig or attachment as long as the bottom of the switch makes contact with a metal surface. I found them to be great and I use mine on the table saw, joiner, and band saw.

**Q: I can't see the black brackets in starter kit. Can this work only with starter kit without brackets?**
A: The brackets come with the dual roller guide and any attachments. They are not sold with the starter kit.

Awesome Idea, works great, even better with mod.

Only thing I can complain about, is that the bearings have spacers that will limit the guiding contact this was meant to provide to the wood you're cutting. So, I removed the bearings, saw that they were marked as "608-RS" and did a Bing search for them. Purchased 16 on eBay from (usabearingsbelts) for $11.47.Only needed 14 to make the stacks all bearings, with no spacers and now it does an even better job of holding the material to be cut, snugly against the fence. I love this thing and would recommend it to my friends.

Well made, but inflexible for me...

These looked like a great idea so I purchased the whole set. I do a lot of machine work and resewing, but found these to be far less useful then I thought. I did not want to rate them low because they are well made but I yet to find a good use for them. Maybe it's just me, but I went back to my old finger boards. These are to ridged, if the wood thickness varies just a little it can jamb you up. Finger boards just flex...

A safe and sure way to RESAW

*by T***E on Reviewed in the United States on December 22, 2011*

Wow! The first time I saw a Mag Switch I thought it was a joke. The joke was on me; these things really work. After seeing this work in a professional environment, I purchased the Mag Jig dual roller fence, two Mag Jig 150's, and the Mag Jig Universal base. The first cut I did was a resaw of an oak 4"x1" x 4' piece. It held it in place very well and kept my fingers a 'very' safe distance away. (With 150 pounds of force each, the Mag switch 150's are strong!). The final cut was so smooth, it needed very little planing and sanding. I have to tell you, it is worth its cost in accurate cuts, and a hundred times the cost of missing a finger. Note: I have all of my fingers and I intend to keep them!Since using this Mag Jig Roller fence system, I've made jigs for my Bench Dog 40-300 ProMax iron router table and Craftsman iron table drill press using the mag switch 150's. It makes having iron table tops worth the weight and extra cost. I am going to watch this company and see what else they come up with. In the meantime, I'm inventing more jigs. What was (is) confusing to me, what did I need to purchase a complete system?By the way, it takes a 40mm Forstner to drill a hole in wood for the Mag Jig 150, or it will fit snug in the universal base which has both 30mm and 40mm holes.
