I can see why the seller probably thought it was tan, as it does almost look like that color. They also might have fixed it up in Photoshop as well to make it more presentable. It may not be exactly as listed, but the bag is perfect otherwise - much larger than I expected, which is exactly what I need, and it's very sturdy. I would have preferred real leather with thicker canvas, but for those on a budget, this is a good choice.My only warning is that the stitching is sub-par in certain areas; handles on the bag offer enough support, but the stitching where the shoulder strap connects isn't the best. I've been avoiding using the shoulder strap, which is disappointing, but it's manageable. The faux leather looks fine, but I have yet to see how easily it wears out. Brass fixings seem to be holding up well. No issues with the inside lining.I bought two of these bags for a last-minute cross-country trip, and I expedited the shipping.
