I learned that 12” tiles are not really 12”! They are 11-3/4”. The standard stencils you can order for floor stencils, are made in 12”! (Manufacturers, please take note!!!)  So, I had to return the ones I ordered, and spend a bit more money to get custom stencils. The job took longer than I thought. I wish I had used a sponge as recommended in the enclosed instructions, instead of rolling the paint on, as recommended in the YouTube video I watched. I was careful applying the paint, but it still bled under the stencil. I spent many HOURS, hand touching up the edges to make them sharp. In the end of a LONG process, It turned out beautiful. My husband wasn’t going to move the toilet, which would have meant turning myself into a contortionist to get the paint on around the damn thing. He took one look at where I was in the process, and recommended moving it. I didn’t even have to demand it. He was so impressed with how it was coming together, that he figured he’d make my life easier. He was rewarded with home cooked meals instead of being forced onto takeout for his trouble. Although, when we put the clunker toilet back in we took a few gouges out of my paint! . So, back to hand touching up for this girl, once again.  For $50,000 I will help someone else do this!
