Use this 3-roll quilt frame with your sewing machine for no-baste free motion machine quilting, or hold it in your lap for hand quilting. Includes two roller pipes made of PVC, three fiberglass rods for rolling the quilt easily and smoothly, side tension ribbons, three muslin leaders.This frame accommodates quilts up to 38" wide - an ideal size for wall hangings and to learn with. You can easily modify it to accept any quilt width by making new rods - simply purchase 3 pieces of metal conduit (EMT) of the desired length at your local lumber yard, and move the round nylon rod ends from your original 48" rods to the new rods using a Phillips screwdriver.Because the frame itself does the moving, it can be used with virtually any home sewing machine.|n

Review: Fabulous - Pictures are from my second quilt. (First one was pretty bad but a lot of it was me getting used to my new sewing machine.) the more you do it the easier it gets. One thing that really helped me was setting a maximum speed on my machine so no matter how hard you stomped on the pedal it only goes about 2 stitches per second. The slower stitching gave me just enough time to figure out what I was going to do next. This frame is excellent, easy-ish to figure out. One thing I got hung up on was how many rollers to use. He goes into great detail about putting the batting on a separate spool. All I do is make the complete quilt sandwich, roll it up on a spool, keeping it tight. Attach end of quilt to other spool (on the fabric tether) and roll from there. I’m very happy with this. My quilts are done in days instead of months, and the machine quilting can be excellent.
Review: A Great Investment - I love this product. I have been quilting for around 4 years now and hate that I always mess up the back of the quilt because pins do not give proper tension. I have always created folds on the backs of my quilts that look really unprofessional and do not want to use sprays or sticky batting. I have only a small, cheap machine but figured that I would give this frame a chance. I have completed my first quilt on it and it looks beautiful. I did a very simple design and look forward to doing more complicated ones in the future. When I first opened up my package and watched the video I really thought I would return it. It seems really complicated, bulky and it does require alot of adjusting and tacking. It really "feels" like a homemade engineering project and I thought that it would end up being pointless. I am really glad I gave it a chance. Because all the pieces are adjustable and "simple" it means that I can make a wide variety sizes and styles of quilts as well as getting replacement parts. It is time consuming but moving around the safety pins took just as long and was not effective. I have only 5" clearance from the needle to the back of my machine so I need to roll the quilt more than most people. I do not mind the time and effort considering how much time I put into piecing a quilt. I also love than when not in use it all comes apart and fits well in an upright box in the corner of my room. It takes up alot of room when together but stores in very little space. I think that if you are like me and looking for a working solution to tension problems when quilting & do not mind the time and effort it takes to do that than this frame is a wonderful purchase. If you are looking for something that just snaps together, looks like an industrial frame and requires little effort than you will be disappointed.

**Q: I have a Bernina 440Q will it work?**
A: It will work with any machine if you have enough throat space. My machine is 7 inches from needle to neck. I wouldn't go any smaller than that.

**Q: what is minium requirement of area in inches for throat for it to work with?**
A: It would work with 3-5” throat, but you would be doing a lot of adjusting of the fabric on the rollers. The larger the throat, the more area you could quilt between adjustments. Here’s a video of him operating it. https://youtu.be/WQ_Dqdd5t_I

**Q: How big of a table and work space do i need for this?**
A: The length of the frame, as it comes is 48" but it sits on two cylinder to move. I used a dining table.

A: It is approximately 48" long and 15 " wide

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It does work, but...

It works. Awkward, troublesome, but it does work. I had a frayed edge, applique quilt that I could not get quilted due to slippage, but this frame allowed me to complete it. Main problem I had was the cord on my sewing machine--the one that attaches to the pedal--was too short by quite a bit. I had to set the pedal on the floor on the opposite side of the table from me and then run a long 1x2 board from it to me. Just propped the board on the pedal and then had to be careful when I put my foot on the end close to me or it would take off at top speed! Completely removed any precision pedal work I might have employed! The sewing area is very small, but you get good at unpinning and re-rolling. The instructions, especially those concerning where to draw lines on the muslin leader are not clear. You need lines on both long edges...but you don't know that in the beginning. It was designed by an enginner, and being an engineer yourself would definitely help. I'm glad I have it, if I ever need it again...but I sure hope I don't!!
