Kept the Texas heat at bay
Used this on a multi-state road trip and it worked great. The inside is water repellant so your shirt doesn't get soaked. Only downside is that once the vest is soaked the outside gets a thin film of some sort of slime from whatever material is used to absorb the water. Not a big deal, and worth it for the money. FYI it runs a bit large, I typically wear a medium but it was a bit big on me.

Worth the money.
Worked great. Requires a lot of water (gallon at least). You will be wet. I used this today (98 degrees according to the Harley) and no problems. It stayed cool until it was dry (about two hours) then it was a hot. I wet the vest at a convenience store and it went right back to cool. Here again, a bottle of water will not be enough water, it takes at least a gallon to activate the vest and you will be wet (but cool). Feels well made, not cheap. Zipper is nice and large (plastic) and did not hang up or stick. The back comes down off the neck which is ok with me but it does not cool the neck - upper back and below. No interference with my helmet. The front is open to mid-chest allowing some air flow down the front after the vest dries (positive) and the sides are open except for an elastic band (no cooling material on the side) but I did see this as a positive once the vest dries. The vest did not flap in the wind, it stays put and somewhat rigid when wet. After the vest dries it floats around a little but not to the point of a problem. Vest weight is around two lbs dry, water is 8.2 lbs per gallon so the vest starts out heavy and gets lighter as it dries. Size seems right, no bunching or gathering, bottom landed right in my lap as I sat on the bike. Kept my core covered and cool, front and back. Remember, everywhere this touches will be wet, so pants and shirt will be a little more than damp.

Keeps me cool in the summer.
I recently purchased this Evaporative cooling vest and I'm really impressed with its performance. The quality is excellent, and it's very easy to use. I've been using it on and off for about a month, and it has consistently met my expectations. One of the standout features is the way it cools you down, while allitle heavy when it is full you can ring some of the water out and make it just perfect. It has made a significant difference in my experience of being out doors or riding my motorcycle, While there are a few areas where it could be improved, overall, I would highly recommend this product to others. The quality is very nice the Zipper works great. It's a great value for the price, and I'm glad I made the purchase. I've written several reviews on Amazon, and I try to be as detailed and helpful as possible for other shoppers in making informed decisions

"Coolest" Summer Motorcycle Accessory
This just WORKS! By itself, it stays cool for a couple of hours. However, under a mesh motorcycle jacket, as long as it stays wet (and you're moving), it stays cool. Buy a lightweight dry-bag to store it overnight while on the road. I typically stop every few hours for fuel anyway. When I do, I drop the vest into its (reverse) dry-bag with some ice and water, and let it sit while I stretch my legs. Climbing back into it feels amazing (for hours)! It can initially feel heavy and a bit bulky, but sooo worth it. The gel cells do a good job of retaining the water, but some will inevitably leach onto your base layer clothing. While this might sound annoying (which it is) it is no worse than being soaked with your own sweat (which is somewhat inevitable).

Decent if your expectations are realistic
I've had this vest for about 6 weeks, so it's seen a lot of 100 degree days. I use it just for commuting and sub-2 hour rides, as it loses it's effectiveness after that. I typically don't use it unless temps are well into the 90s. Does keep your core noticeably cooler for a while and only takes a few minutes to "activate". On the downside, to really work well as long as possible on really hot days, you really have to soak it. This makes it heavy, and your shirt underneath will get wet, as will the top of your pants or shorts, and probably your underwear as well. I find this an acceptable tradeoff to keep somewhat comfortable, but others may not. Evaporative vests like this supposedly work best in low humidity, so if you live where there's a "dry" heat, you may have better results. Sizing seems true, so make sure you get the size that provides you with a comfortably snug fit under your jacket to get the most benefit. It's also handy when running errands on hot days, since it helps keep you from overheating while walking around in stores with gear on. For the price and what it's designed to do, I think it's a good investment. The only reason I gave it just three stars is the construction quality concerns me, since there are a few areas with stitching flaws that look like they could cause trouble later on.

no airflow no cooling except water that drips onto pants.
I live in PHX. I had to wash twice with dawn to remove slime. It does hold water, but also completely blocks all airflow through vest, none. It takes 40 hours to dry on a hanger outside in PHX, proving there is no air movement. All you are doing is wrapping a plastic bag thats wet around you. Not good design.

It's like having air-conditioning on your bike!
Riding to Sturgis this summer? Or riding on Route 66? If you're on a bike, and it's over 80 degrees, you better get one of these! It's like having air-conditioning on a motorcycle. Put it in a ziploc bag fill it with 2 gallons of water and put it on. It will last about an hour when riding your motorcycle in 90+ degree weather. The all you have to do is turn into the next rest area, put you vest in a 1 gallon ziploc, bag and fill it up. It will take more than a gallon to soak it up and you'll be surprised how much water it holds. After an hours ride, you're dry! (except for the crotch in your Levi's) LOL

Works great when there's wind
This vest works like it says - by evaporative cooling. This makes it great for any situation where there's a breeze; otherwise it will feel wet and clammy if you're just standing around with no wind. Very effective when riding a motorcycle - it saved me through 6hr of 112 deg heat in the southwest. As for size - I take XL shirts but the XL vest was loose over my t-shirt so I'd say it runs large. I still wear a vented jacket over it which keeps it in contact with my skin and works as designed. Very light weight and comfortable and the price is right for something you are going to wear occasionally.

Awesome customer service
This product is absolutely amazing. It keeps me cool for hours and very easy to get it cool again. You don’t have to wear those bulky water packs that when they thaw you still have to carry the weight. Anyone looking for a vest to keep cool this is the perfect choice! I had an issue where the bottom fabric of the zipper ripped. Customer service got back to me very quickly and solved my problem right away. I would give 10 stars if I could. Don’t think about it or look for other products. JUST BUY IT!!!
