The first one I purchased was about 6 months ago and I use it everyday and the original batteries I placed are still going strong. I even now have one by my bed and I don’t have to worry about things accidentally falling into it and my bedside table no longer has candy wrappers from my midnight snack that I have to dispose of everyday in another room. My favorite part is that I never have to touch the trash can for it to open and close. I just wave my hand over it and it opens for a few seconds and then it closes perfectly.
