Review: Loud and clear, baby! - I initially purchased a Behringer Powerplay P1 Personal In-ear Monitor Amplifier, however the desertcart listing didn't mention that it requires line-level XLR input, not mic-level XLR. I then tried the Behringer P2 Ultra-Compact Personal In-Ear Monitor Amplifier, but it had terrible static (just touching the XLR cable increased the static). I then tried the Coda Music Tech Personal in-Ear Monitor System which seems similar to the Rolls PM50se (except it can be powered using either a 9V batter and DC transformer--not included). It was decent but the volume was low. AND THEN I BOUGHT A ROLLS PM50se! OMG! The audio is crystal clear (much better than the Coda), the volume is loud (20% or 30% on the Rolls is similar to 100% on the Coda), it allows a second input (via a 1/4" jack), it supports mic-level OR line-level input, it has a pass-through for the XLR which (in my application) avoids the need for an XLR Y-splitter, it includes the power supply, it allows you to control the ground lift, and on and on.
