I have a 110v hairdryer and I came to Brazil where the power is 220v. When I connected the converter and plugged in my hairdryer, it started making a noise from the adapter and the power in the house started flickering. I researched and read the reviews before plugging it in, but I didn't see anyone having this issue so I went ahead and turned on the hairdryer, and guess what? It didn't work. I believe it was converting to less than 110v. So, I grabbed a computer battery backup and then it worked.
