CHINA, VERY DISSAPOINTED LIKE ANYTHING MADE IN CHINA, CHEAP!!! marks easily. VERY PRICEY FOR QUALITY...WILL NOT BE COMPLETING THE SET....WILL NOT BUY ANYTHING LE CREUSET IF CONTINUES TO BE MAD IN CHINA!!!

How are these dishes packed, and what packing materials are used?

They are packed very well, each plate has a cardboard In between, mugs are secured with cardboard around them, each piece separate, all strategically placed, materials are all cardboard. If you want to take extra precautions, call Amazon let them about your concerns and tell them to place the Le Creuset box in a Amazon box with extra packaging, so it can have extra protection. Le Creuset are very good in packaging, that’s how Amazon receives them. If by chance anything is damaged, Amazon will send another set, but you should be fine, just follow above instructions. The Dinnerware Set are Great, very pleased with the purchase,I hope this helps, All The Best.

Does the product get very hot in the microwave - too hot to touch?

No, It doesn’t get hot in the microwave.

They’re made to eat of off and are dishwasher safe. I’d assume they’re nontoxic.
