So we started him out with a Rawlings starter catchers gear set. While it served it's purpose he quickly outgrew it.So after a lot of research we opted to go with this set. We decided to order each piece separately because it gave more flexibility in sizing and our son is larger than the average 8 year old.This is a well built helmet. The chin padding is adjustable to allow for a more comfortable fit. It comes with a bag to keep the helmet in, though we tend not to use it because it's usually a sweaty mess when the game is over so we opted to allow it to air out.My son was so excited to get the set and loves it. He's proud to gear up and feels extra protected out there. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bought for my U12 AAA Team *by L***A on March 2, 2013* The boys love it. I got a couple of old helmets from the league, but I was not happy with them and wanted the boys to feel comfortable and want to be in the catcher position.This fits the majority of the kids really well, ages from 9-11. I love the look and the construction.It has such a nice opening for vision that I've asked the boys to attempt to leave it on for their throw/catch vs throwing the helmet off.
