I only use this brand's DECK, PORCH N PATIO ZERO WASTE BLOCK in the green wire block feeder meant for it and also in an open tray feeder. My backyard birds (white-crowned sparrows, house sparrows, house finches and goldfinches) love it. Note: the white-crowned sparrows are only seasonal in my area from around November through March. Hope this helps & good luck! **Q: Can starlings eat this?** A: Yes. Starlings and grackles have cleaned out my feeders in just a few hours using this food and other similar types.
