The attached earphones are good quality unlike many other brands. The radio is very easy to hold in hand or keep in pocket. The belt clip is not much useful and can be easily removed. You feel the quality when you hold it in your hand. Some Sangean pocket radios are comparable in quality and price. You can choose depending on which design and sound you like. I find the C Crane has more balanced sound and true to life tonality. I use rechargeable external battery which one gets easily. I own both and prefer the Sangean 200x for everyday use. **Q: Can anyone compare distant AM station reception to other pocket radios such as the CC SW Pocket or the Sangean DT-210?** A: As far as the As far as the CC pocket goes, it's very good for FM and weather. The AM is okay but not great. I have a 15 dollar sony that does just as well and a 100 dollar Grundig G6 that outperforms it. One good thing I can say is that there is no override by the more powerful local stations. **Q: does this radio come with a power cord too or will it only run on batteries?** A: No power Cord, BUT, the way I use this GREAT RADIO! ! ! Is buy 4 rechargeable AA batteries and charger as this will save you a lot of $$$ on batteries anyway, then put one set of 2 batteries in the radio, and then you have 2 more batteries to swap out when the first set needs charging. Note this Radio runs about 100hours per charge, so for a Emergency Radio it will last for a while with 4 batteries. a small solar panel that can charge these batteries I a couple hours and you are set. **Q: Can you disable the beep in the Speaker? I don't really like having the beep in the speaker when changing pages or presets.** A: The beep can be disabled. With the power "Off," press and hold memory button #3 for two seconds. All beeps will be disabled except Alarm and WX Alert. If you really want a reliable, well-built radio, consider this item. Impressive right out of the box. Tuning is precise, range of volume is wide with no loud bursts, settings and pre-sets are easy to use. No crackling or static when tuned. Pocket size is excellent.
