You can throw them in the washing machine easily to clean them. We’ve completely stopped using sponge scrubbers, these are so much better. Review: 7 months and still going strong - I wanted something eco friendly that wasn't polyester or plastic, to reduce the plastic particles going down the plug hole into the environment, but also something that worked. This has been a very useful purchase. It has scrubbed ceramic pots, iron pans, the sink, oven grills and works really well. Removes stuck on stuff easily and has lasted really well. It doesn't get stinky like those green polyester/plastic scrubbers. . I do hang it up to dry on the dish drainer when not in use and rinse it through with soapy water, but it stays quite clean just with a rinse through. I have had it in use for 7 months, by the kitchen sink and it is still going strong. "Normal" cotton insanely damaging to environment, hence the preference...** A: I says 100% cotton, I use them regularly they are good **Q: Will this now come in plastic packaging (as one recent customer has reported)?** A: Unfortunately, yes. Mine came in a plastic bag within a plastic lined envelope from Amazon. So despite the excellent product, I will not be ordering any more until the packaging is plastic free. **Q: Are these honestly safe for cookware and non-stick surfaces? I've just used mine for the first time and it's great, but feels really abrasive!** A: We have been using them for more than a year on non-stick pans, glasses, stainless steel and have not seen any scratching at all. I cannot guarantee they are non-abrasive, all I can say is I have seen no evidence in our household use of them. **Q: These clearly aren't 100% cotton. What are they coated with to make them 'scrubby'?
