## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pretty good actually
*by S***S on January 5, 2018*

First off ALWAYS take in the fact that these don’t have ingredients that you might be used to. For those of us who have tasted actual milk in our chocolate, taking milk out does change and will always change the flavor.I am VERY allergic to milk. I get ulcers that bleed within hours of ingesting milk. It is incredibly painful. I’m allergic to the casin and the whey. I’m also allergic to peanuts. I get hives with peanuts. That leaves me itchy. So I have to do in depth research on some foods to make sure I’m safe. Now to my review — I have tasted numerous milk free/vegan foods over the years. Chocolate and cheese seem to be the hardest to reproduce, which is nuts because jelly belly has a jelly bean that tastes like a pear and popcorn. Anyway, as Americans we are used to very milky sugary delicious chocolate, this can’t be reproduced in milkless/vegan form unfortunately. But as far as tasting the closest like a good dark chocolate this one does the job. It’s very close (my opinion) to Hershes dark chocolate (yes, there’s milk in that unfortunately.) Enjoy Life mini chocolate chips are also really good. I use those in homemade Chexmix and in chocolate chip cookies. But this tastes better as a stand-alone chocolate.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ B+. Tastes Good. Feels Good. Worth a Try.

I think the 4 out of 5 rating says it best: "I like it", but don't necessarily "love it" (5 out of 5).For starters, I am Vegan - a rather recent conversion. I'm not much into candy to begin with, but I have had a fair share in my lifetime. The only real "candy" I would crave is the occasional chocolate bar. The only bars I would ever buy before going Vegan were Kit-Kats or Mounds (non-almond), so if you find those attractive, then perhaps we have similar taste profiles. I craved a bar maybe once every month or two and that was the extent of my adventures.Well, recently I craved a "chocolate bar" once again, but being Vegan I decided to limit myself to something non-mainstream & certified Vegan. This product sounded like the best idea - and it was.The "texture" is quite good - it has a sharpness to it, and it disintigrates quite evenly. To boot, it tasted exactly like a chocolate bar should. As for the taste, it isn't as salivating to me as a Kit-Kat or a Mounds, but it certainly delivered - it satisfied my craving just as well as those other bars. The flavor of the sugar was somewhat uneven in comparison to the chocolate. It was no doubt "good", it just wasn't as evenly blended in with the flavor of the chocolate. The sugar was somewhat crisp and distinguished from the chocolate taste, and perhaps others will look at that as a strength. I also was perturbed that there were no nutritional facts listed on Amazon, and was somewhat "meh" about the fact that it does contain a heavy 9g of saturated fat per bar (45% DV).The BEST part about the bar, though, was not the taste per se but the aftermath of the eating. I didn't feel bloated or glutted down by the ingredients as I do with non-vegan chocolate. While I felt "full", I didn't feel a real "bloat" (there is some minor bloat, though). It settles very easily in my digestive system and the flavor satisfies without causing an addicting sensation to continue eating it ad nauseum, which really is a first when it comes to eating chocolate.

### ⭐⭐ I can easily whip up something much more satisfying by making frosting
*by C***O on August 16, 2015*

Definitely not worth the high price, the wait, and the melted-on-arrival delivery. Nevermind that it isn't a close approximation to chocolate made with milk. Somehow the flavor and texture of the chocolate itself doesn't come through. It's not even as creamy as dark chocolate, which I don't think of as creamy as compared to real milk chocolate. I can easily whip up something much more satisfying by making frosting, mixing together (cold or hot) cocoa powder, vegan butter or refined coconut oil, vanilla, powdered sugar, salt, and soy milk. Spooning this frosting onto dark chocolate makes better than the very pricey truffles that this company sells, too. So that's what I will do for now, until I start manufacturing my own vegan milk chocolate for sale.I really wanted this to be my vegan solution to the candy problem since I don't yet know how to make my own candies. I bought these bars, plus two fancier boxes of chocolates, for my birthday. It was an expensive disappointment. I ate one bar rather quickly, the way I do when a dessert just isn't hitting the spot; then I forgot about the rest of the bars that I had put in the fridge to resolidify them. And it is not easy for me to forget about chocolate.
