With the pre wired pots and preamp it is a tight fit to get them all in the tiny cavity, once you do it is the best sound a bass can make!

Seymour Duncan Always Great.
I bought a Sterling Sub 4 Bass guitar and loved the feel and look but hated the sound. I took the horrible preamp out and wired up a p bass passive 1 volume 1 tone schematic and put this awesome pickup in. The sound now is great and this pickup can be warm and punchy or turn up to get a nice growl with a tight bass response. Only 1 problem I had to use file on pickgaurd to get the fit right with some patience it worked out great. So spend the money and get quality and support a company that really makes great pickups.

Works great, made my Sterling by musicman bass sound crispier. Easy installation and no noise problems.

OK, so far!
Purchased two of these pickups for a Music Man style bass I'm making. It will have active electronics and a battery holder that will be accessed from the back; hence the hole in the control cavity. In the image is a foam test cutout from my cnc router just to make sure all the components fit and measurement distances are good. The final product will be made of similar wood as in the second photo. I'll post an update one I get the bass fully assembled and have done a sound check.....

Awesome Pickup
The Description is incomplete, This is the SMB-4D. It is a more modern Replacement for a Musicman Bass and has more agressive Tone than the SMB-4A

Muy buena se la coloque a mi bajo squiery suena muy bien. Nítido cuando requiero.esa ecualización y un poco más gordo cuando se requiere, pero sin saturar. Se nota una mejor fidelidad
