Well, I don't know how I missed this specific feature of this fan, but it has a "nature" mode where the fan cycles periodically through the different fan speeds to vary the flow. This has been a revelation to me! It is really a wonderful feature and feels almost like a "natural" breeze, rather than just a constant flow. I've never heard of such a setting on a fan, and this is really fantastic. There are an additional 2 modes: one, where it's just like a normal, constantly-blowing fan; and another, called "sleep" where it cycles through the low and medium speeds. These mode functions are really cool! I didn't know fans could do that! The build quality is really solid. It's actually a much heavier fan than I was expecting. Not so heavy that it can't be easily moved, but it feels really solid and stable. The base is smaller than other fans I've seen, but it is heavy enough that it still is really stable without wobbling around. It wasn't difficult to put together at all, though I did have to set the grill a couple of times in order to line up the label properly. It's not a criticism, and if you don't care about that sort of thing, you can just slap the grill (cage?) on any old way. I'm not sure what the function of the little blades that go on top of the larger blades. Don't really know what it does... But I'm surprised at how quiet it is. It has a timer so it can automatically turn off at night saving YOU money. If you click a button when its off the whole Control Part will light up so you dont have to turn on any more powerful lights. Its has three powerful modes but best of all it has a REMOTE so you dont even have to get up to turn it off.The last great feature i will note is that it has a OSC mode where it turns itself side to side automatically so its great for sharing to.
